We offer the largest variety of sauna quality lumber available on the internet! Proper sauna tongue and groove paneling woods are typically kiln dried to 8% moisture, which stabilizes wood fibers for sauna use. This greatly reduces warpage and shrinkage of boards once installed. The most popular sauna wood paneling types are tongue & groove white aspen, hemlock, and western red cedar. Complete your sauna wood paneling installation with a trim package of cove molding, baseboard and door trim in Cedar or Basswood.

Hemlock, also called tsuga, is a very hardy wood that is used to make furniture and flooring due to its stability and water resistance, which makes it excellent for paneling in a sauna. With its reddish hue, hemlock matches well with western red cedar. Our hemlock tongue & groove paneling comes in 1/2" thick by 4" wide.

Sauna wood trim will complete your sauna project, just finish cut for an exact fit. Cedar or Basswood types of trim will match most light or dark sauna paneling. Or select wood type to contrast with your sauna wood paneling, such as bright basswood trim against red cedar or hemlock sauna paneling or darker cedar trim against white Aspen paneling. Trim for walls and ceiling is the Cove Molding type. Trim for sauna doors transitions from low profile inside edge to full thickness at outer edge. Cut door trim at 45 degree angles on corners for a seamless look.

Western Red Cedar Sauna Wood boards are most commonly installed vertically for a seamless look and less waste, as the most common board length is 8' length. Some people prefer the horizontal look of sauna woods, which usually costs more because there is more waste. For example a 5' wide x 7' high wall paneled vertically would only have about 1' of waste on each board. This wall paneled horizontally would have almost 3' of waste. Most of our paneling woods are available in several lengths for minimal waste on-site installing the sauna kit.

Other Manufacturers may sell Cedar sauna wood paneling size as a 1x4" (which is starting rough size before finish milling) and priced per linear foot. We offer actual size paneling priced per square foot that is much easier to calculate for sauna building. Cedar sauna woods vary in color and shade, however our shop will select a good mix of boards for a consistent look. When assembling cedar sauna wood, it is best to layout boards for each wall before beginning, so the overall look of the sauna room will be completed to your liking.

Tongue and groove wood paneling can be installed horizontally or vertically. Vertical is most common because there is usually little waste for a 7 foot ceiling height. We have several common lengths of sauna paneling in stock: 6', 7', 8', 9', and 10' lengths. (Nordic Spruce currently only available in 7' lengths.) The usual size of tongue and groove sauna paneling is 3/4" thick x 4" wide in 7 or 8 foot lengths. Some wood types may be available in 1" x 6" sizes. In most vertical applications you will need to fasten 2" x 2" nailers to the studs for proper backing to secure paneling to. Be sure to add supports behind the paneling where benches and a sauna heater will be installed.

This dining room designed by Jamie Drake proves that wood paneling is cool beyond its farmhouse roots. The thick seamless wood panels extend from the walls to the ceiling and feature a crisp white paint for a fresh take on wood paneling.

Just because you have wood wall panels doesn't mean you can't paint the entire room a fun color or experiment with textured paints. Envelop the whole space in a bright lacquer from floor to ceiling for a high impact, wall paneling or no wall paneling.

Custom wood paneling in this breakfast nook designed by Studio Shamshiri softens the crisp white walls and edgy concrete floors. Not to mention, it's unique! Give your walls extra style in the kitchen by color-blocking wood paneling and then adding a tile backsplash over it. This will create geometric dimension and can easily dress up lackluster areas, like behind the oven.

If you have distinct wood paneling on one wall, incorporate a simpler wood panel pattern on the ceiling. This den in designer Elizabeth Pash's Locust Valley home does this well, and it the look makes for a cozy escape.

Is this the sexiest bathroom ever? We think so. Sometimes painting smaller rooms in a darker color can actually make it feel larger and more intimate the same time). It's also a good way to disguise paneling you don't love.

A deep slate gray paint is strategically placed on paneling, which acts as a nice border around the brighter painted portions of the wall. It takes the emphasis off the ridges while also creating a geometric pattern.

Here, California-based designer Lynn Koythanomsup proves the power of material mixing, especially in kitchens where surfaces are of utmost importance. The back wall features wood paneling, as do the lower cabinets, , but they're painted a different color to break things up visually. The exposed brick and material features as well as different woods throughout make for a dynamic and unique whole.

Built-in bookcases help obscure paneling, while cute accessories turn them into a decorative backdrop. But if you really hate those lines, just stack books in front of them until not an inch shows through.

Panelling (or paneling in the U.S.) is a millwork wall covering constructed from rigid or semi-rigid components.[1] These are traditionally interlocking wood, but could be plastic or other materials.
